Wylie & the Wild West News!
Riding horses together and living the western lifestyle is how Wylie & his wife Kimberley love to spend time together when Wylie is not on the road. They cherish a life among horses and can be found most every day on their ranch in Dusty, WA working their string of colts and show horses. Their robust life includes competing in NCHA cuttings across the Northwest. |
Wylie and Kimberley recently finished their 2005 cutting season with some new leather and hardware to show for their hard work and persistent training. Wylie and his two show horses picked up 2 new trophy saddles as high point rider in the WCHA Non-Pro class and high point horse in the WCHA 10K Novice Horse class. Wylie also picked up the year-end buckles in the Non-Pro, 50AM and 10K Nov. Horse classes. |

Speaking of good horses... Wylie and Kimberley have been busy in their hippodrome. A typical winter day at the ranch begins with office duties in the morning, heading to the arena after lunch, and getting back home for a late supper around 8 pm after riding the dozen Cross Three saddle mounts they currently support on alfalfa welfare. Check out their training philosophy and view 4 fine geldings for sale at: Cross Three Ranch. Wylie and Kim unconditionally guarantee their horses to be as advertised. We welcome you to come to the ranch and check 'em out if you are interested!
Wylie & Whiskey had a great summer cutting. When not yodeling or haying, Wylie could be found at Northwest area cutting events astride his favorite bay cow pony, Whiskey. They won the Non-Pro division of the Washington Cutting Horse Association along with the Open and Non-Pro divisions of the Blue Mountain Cutting Club. They added a few buckles and spurs to the trophy case! They also took 3rd place at the Calgary Aged Event at the Stampede grounds in November. Wylie also recently showed "Manolito El Caballo Bonito" aka "Manny" at the Washington Aged Event in Sunnyside in October where they claimed the Non-Pro Derby Championship... Yeow! Go Manny!

Medicine Eagle |
On July 4, 2004 while visiting the family ranch near Browning, MT, Wylie was honored in the sacred tradition of the Blackfeet Indian Tribe and given the name "Na Tu E Pe-Ta" or "Medicine Eagle." Tribe Elder, Jim Spotted Eagle, gave Wylie his new name in an afternoon ceremony. Jim is one of the last living full blooded Blackfeet and explained to Wylie that the name was from one of the great Blackfeet singers from the past. Wylie was instructed to go out into the world and sing... and more importantly, be a "good person." |

Wylie & Whiskey Go to Town! |
Wylie and "Whiskey" the cow horse recently returned from a week Vernon BC where they won the Non-Pro Classic Challenge class at the Dave Whittall Memorial Aged Event cutting competition. Not only did they carry the high aggregate and high final score of the 4 day event but they took home 1st place in the Classic 50K Amateur class to boot. Wylie credits Whiskey's success to |
a daily regimen of "horse yodeling"... which is completely different than "horse whispering." It is their second year in a row of winning their classat the Dave Whittall Memorial, one of the Northwest's premier cutting events. Whiskey got to eat a box of Okanogan Valley apples for his efforts. Wylie learned to never feed a horse a box of apples and then trailer him home on a ten hour drive (wife Kimberley is still cleaning out the back of the trailer).
